My Journey as a potter began in my grandparents’ garden shed with an old wheel, small kiln and reference books discovered in a garage here in the village.
After attending courses, spending time with several potters locally and lots of time experimenting I was passionate to continue as a ceramicist and produce functional, everyday wares, to be part of happy memories with family and friends.
I fell in love with the journey of ‘ball of clay’ to ‘object of function’, enhanced by pleasing shapes and natural shades. I am developing my work, inspired by Porthleven’s coast and mining heritage.
My studio is in the centre of Porthleven, a village where my family have lived since 1769.
